Still working on convincing the Hubby we should redo our room. We have yet to ever get new furniture for it and our current bed is one my Hubby got in college, but we've been using the old guest bed lately. We were wanting to upgrade to a king size bed but I think our room is a little too small for one. Our bedding was what we registered for when we got married. I like it, but our dogs have ruined the embroidery that covers it. Plus it's polyester, so it doesn't breathe well. Come summer time in Texas, that sucker is hot! So I've switched to a white duvet with a tan coverlet.
I have been in love with some of these photos I found on Pinterest. Most of them have white bedding & upholstered headboards. I've been wanting our master to feel like a five star hotel and to have a big fluffy duvet. I love in the first ones that they are pretty neutral but with aqua. We know I'm also a sucker for a soft aqua. I think the color palette would be relaxing and soothing.
I love the tone on tone look in this next set. Even though they are all white & beige they don't come across boring or bland.
I would really like our bedroom not to be overly girlie (I think my hubby would like that even more!), but have more of a masculine/feminine balance. I am loving the side tables in the Candice Olsen room above. I think she did a nice job of balancing the masculine/feminine feel in the room.
I was planning on DIY-ing a headboard, but then I got this guy as a Christmas present!
It came from Joss & Main, they are this awesome online discount store. Each day they just have certain things, mainly home stuff. And once they are out, it's gone. But you can get some great prices. I believe the headboard was $199?
I haven't put it up yet. I need to get one of those metal frames and a bed skirt. So it's just hanging out at the foot of our bed. I still haven't decided to go blue or neutral with the walls. The first accent pillow fabric I've picked up is just tan/brown/white. Leaning towards neutral so our house "doesn't look like a beach house", per my hubby's request.

Happy Valentines!
Happy Valentines Day! Hope yours is filled with lots of love & sweet treats!
Yesterday I stopped by Walmart on my way home from work... I don't think I've ever seen so many men there in my life! And lots of Dads with their kiddos. It took forever just to get my few things. Note to self: avoid Walmart on Feb 13th & 14th.
How cute is this picture? I think it'd be so cute in a little girl's room. Could practically design a whole room around this baby.

Styled Shoot
Our friends, Phil & Andrea Chavanne have an amazing ranch here in Brady, called Selah Springs. You've always been able to rent it for exotic and deer hunts, retreats, or just a fun weekend. But now you can rent it for weddings. Their gorgeous lodge, with a huge wrap around porch (with an outdoor fireplace!) sits right above the San Saba river. We love any excuse to hang out there. It's so beautiful & relaxing. It's the perfect place for a Texas Hill Country Wedding.
A couple of weeks ago, Tim & I and our good friends, Will & Jes were asked to bust out our wedding wear for a "wedding shoot" at Selah Springs. Shuffield Photography & a couple of their photography friends put together a styled shoot for Selah Springs' new wedding page. It was really fun to wear my dress again, Tim didn't think it was quite as fun ;) but he was still a really good sport. He even left his golf tournament early, that he was winning. Now that's love people.

Christmas Pictures
A few weeks late but here is our Christmas session. Shuffield Photography took them... which also happens to be my place of work! Tisha & Jim (my bosses), are seriously talented, and wonderful people to work for. We shoot weddings, engagements, families, & seniors. And you can get all sorts of fun & fancy products with your photos on them. Click the link above to check out more of their work, or you can find them on Pinterest.
I insisted that the girls needed to be in our photos & that we needed a proper family picture :) They were surprising well behaved (as well as Tim for that matter). Below are just a few of my favorites. There are still about 100 more than I'm in love with.

Feeling Blue
It's finally starting to feel a little more blue around the Walker house. And we are loving it! This weekend my mom & brother-in-law Andrew helped me paint our living room & laundry room. So the gold is gone & now Sherwin Williams' Rain Washed is here. The sample looks a lot more green than I think it actually looks in our living room. And the laundry room reads more blue than that.

It feels so much lighter & brighter, which I love. And is feeling more like us. But I do think the living room is feeling awfully empty without the Christmas tree! Next up should be the trim & wall in the kitchen/dining room/entry. But I'm really hoping to hire someone for that... at least the trim. It's such a huge space, not looking forward to all that work!

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday to my sweet hubby, Tim! He's turning the big 2-7 today. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday, his reply was "for my birthday, I want you to not spend money". How not fun is that? But it makes birthday shopping very easy, especially in a town where your only options are Walmart, Bealles, or not to procrastinate & online order. And unfortunately the Walkers put the Pro in procrastinate. So per Tim's request we'll be having an at home date. Can't say I make my birthday that easy on him. (It's month-o-birthday starting in March).
Tim- Time sure flies and I look forward to all of our future adventures together! Love you & Happy Birthday!

House Tour - Before
Kitchen
This is our favorite room in the house. Love all the counter space and my beloved dishwasher! When we looked at our first house, I didn't even look for a dishwasher. I just assumed it would have one. In Brady, you've got to look. Poor Tim hardly had any meals cooked for him in the last house. There will be some painting in the kitchen's future and little things.
Perhaps you noticed the fact that there is two tv's in here currently? The second one appeared after Tim was in San Angelo to buy a new washer and dryer. He gave away our current ones, headed to San Angelo, and returned with a huge tv and no washer & dryer. So now we need a washer, dryer, and a much larger piece of furniture for this ridiculous tv.
Entry
Dining Room
Not in love with the current mantlescape going on... In need of a large mirror or something. But we do love the fireplace!
Hall Bathroom
Love this retro bathroom. In has a turquoise tub & sink. While white would be the first choice, I think it's really fun. I really love the colorful mosaic floor. And it all just so happens to be in my favorite shade. Love the wall color the previous owners chose too.
Master
I've got big plans for this room... just gotta get Tim behind them :)
Our master bath is nothing special. There is a teeny shower behind the door. Not in love with a tan-peach tile, but at least it's pretty neutral.
Extra bedroom/future craft room
This is currently the "I don't know where to put it, stick it in the blue room".

This starts the part of the "find the dogs" tour. They kept trying to make their way into most of the photos.
Laundry Room
You may notice it's missing the most important appliance... more on that in a moment. This leads out to either the backyard or to the garage.
Living Room
This will be the first room we paint. Can't say that I'm a yellow/gold girl. Trying to hold off till after the holidays... but I'm sort of an impulsive painter. When I'm ready for the new color to happen, I'm already on my way to Ace.

Love the wall color, I think it's the same as the bathroom. Would love to add more pillows and what not the to bed.
